The funk of Mraz, the energy of The Goo Goo Dolls, and the eloquence of Mayer is what many describe as the music of Erik DiNardo.
This Boston-born singer-songwriter prides himself on being uniqueand the way in which his musical career sprung has been anything but normal. I wanted to learn to play guitar so I paid one of my rock-star buddies with cigarettes and whiskey for him to teach me a few chords. I got hookedon my music that is, not whiskey, and the rest is history. For years he penciled his lyrics to lifes experiences and taught himself advanced guitar techniques, and quite naturally, Eriks artistic talents blossomed.
From Amherst College to a year of professional hockey and then Berklee College of Music, Erik spent his free time playing guitar and writing songs. I grew up in a musical family but never realized my potential until my friends told me to seriously listen to my work, says DiNardo. But theres really no secret to what Im about. My life is reflected in my musicIm an open book.
As his 2007 debut album Turning Me Loose, produced by Chris Keup (Jason Mraz, Jonathan Rice, Josh Kelley) and engineered by Stewart Myers (Lifehouse, Mandy Moore) reaches its national audience, Erik has already began his own buzz in New England. Having recently opened for The Click Five and playing renowned venues such as The Avalon (Boston), The Berklee Performance Center, Hotel Cafe (LA), The Paradise, and The Cutting Room (NYC), Erik enchants his listeners with his sweet, soothing expression and sound.
Erik's smile and style captivates audiences with his onstage presence, energy, and soul. If you think Turning Me Loose is great, youll be more amazed when you experience him live.
